Lucile Mae Butler, Fort Wayne, IN/Janesville  (1915 - 2010)

Lucile Mae Butler, 94, passed away on March 14, 2010, at Sycamore Village Assisted Living, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Center Township on Sept. 9, 1915, daughter of William and Elsie (Natz) Nightengale. Lucile married George E. Butler on Dec. 30, 1936, in Center Township. They lived and shared their lives together for over 66 years. He predeceased her on March 31, 2003. Dancing and playing cards were her favorite pastimes. The love that she continually demonstrated as a mother and grandmother will be greatly missed by her family. Her work life included positions as an inspector for Parker Pen and Gibbs Manufacturing. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Sandra) Butler of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren: Todd Butler, Brett (Jayda) Butler, and Kari Roemke, all of Fort Wayne; two great granddaughters, Victoria Roemke and Addilynne Butler; a sister, Shirley (Ernest) Calvin of Brodhead, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
In addition to George, she was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bernice Silverthorn; and a brother, Melvin Nightengale.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at ST. PAUL’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, JANESVILLE, with Pastor Paul Garchow officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park, followed by a luncheon in the church cafeteria. A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 22, from 12 p.m. until the time of service at the CHURCH.
