Jean Clapper, 78, Lake Geneva, passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at her residence. Jean was born on Sept. 1, 1931, in Walworth, WI, daughter of George and Gladys Miller of Milton. She was united in marriage to Robert Clapper on May 5, 1956, in Lake Geneva, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1996. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Lake Geneva, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #153 of Burlington, and the Frank Kresen American Legion Auxiliary Unit #24 of Lake Geneva. She graduated from the Wisconsin School for the Blind, Janesville.
Surviving are two sons, Rick (Chris) Clapper of Lake Geneva and Boyd (Pattie) Clapper of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren: Jessica, Jenna, Robert, James, and Jacob Clapper; and a sister, Joyce Miller of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James; and two brothers, Kenneth and Bud Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at the STEINKE FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. David Strang of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Lake Geneva, officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m., with Order of Eastern Star Services to be held at 7 p.m.
