Velva Ann Wilear, Delavan, WI  (1940 - 2010)

Velva Ann Wilear, 69, of Delavan, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Pikeville, KY, a daughter of Floyd and Beatrice (Coleman) Adkins. She married Gordon Wilear on April 13, 1963, at United Church of Christ-Congregational in Delavan. Velva was employed at Lake Lawn Lodge in Delavan for 20 years until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon of Delavan; two daughters, Jackie Wilear of Fontana and Jill (Steve) Sorg of Darien; two sisters, Phyllis (James) Welch of Sun Prairie, WI, and Janet (Steve) Ramsey of VA; one brother, Paul Adkins of Janesville; also nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her three brothers.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST-CONGREGATIONAL in Delavan with Rev. Laura McLeod officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the CHURCH. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Christ Congregational. MONROE FUNERAL HOME, Delavan, is assisting the family.
