Phyllis Eileen Bogie, 85, Whitewater, WI, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI. Phyllis was born in Little Prairie, WI, on May 7, 1924, daughter of Frank and Margaret (Brereton) Smale. She graduated from Whitewater College High School. On Feb. 24, 1945, Phyllis married Neil Bogie. Neil preceded her in death on May 26, 1996. Phyllis was a homemaker, member of the Whitewater Seniors in the Park and the Walworth County Homemakers, and was an avid crafter.
Surviving are two sons, Ivan (Elizabeth) Bogie of Whitewater and Art (Katherine) Bogie of Fort Atkinson; daughter, Kathy (Tom) Kilpin of East Troy; grandchildren: Paula (Jason) Kadubeck, Andrea Bogie (Adriano Udani), Aaron (Jamie) Bogie, Amy (Todd) Schmidt, Jeffrey (Christina) Bogie, and Tim (Lisa) Bridgeman; great-grandchildren: Ethan, Madeline, Michael, Owen, Naomi, and Madison; brother, Wesley (Becky) Smale of Palmyra; and sister, Vera (Gordan) Wargowski of Beloit.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Bessie Mae; and a brother, Marvin Smale.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at the NITARDY FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, Whitewater, WI, with Rev. Glenn Skatrud officiating. Burial will be in the Little Prairie Cemetery, Town of Troy, WI. Friends may call from 2 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, at the NITARDY FUNERAL HOME, WHITEWATER, and also one hour prior to the services on Monday.
