Paul Koppen Buhrow, 52, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, passed away on Oct. 2, 2009, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Edgerton on July 21, 1957, to Kenneth H. and Nancy (Koppen) Buhrow. He attended school in Edgerton and graduated from Edgerton High School in 1975. Paul went to Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. Paul was a creative, intelligent and unique individual who touched many lives. He was continually learning and exploring. Paul was a lover of nature and the universe. He was an avid reader, a talented musician and songwriter, artist and craftsman. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family, friends, and touched countless lives. In June of 2009, Paul was diagnosed with aggressive testicular cancer and underwent three months of grueling chemotherapy. After a valiant fight to overcome this cancer, his death was caused by bleomycin induced toxicity of the lungs.
Paul is survived by his loving family: his parents, Ken and Nancy of Edgerton; his wife, Debbie of Fountain Hills, AZ; his children: Tracy, Evan and Jessie of Edgerton; his brothers, Larry (Michelle) of Janesville and Philip (Cindy) of Edgerton; his sisters, Linda (Dan) Kettner of Spring Green and Susan (Dan) Durocher of Gastonia, NC; and his stepdaughters: Cassidy, Courtney, and Caela Gardenier of Bozeman, MT.
He is further survived by nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; in-laws; and the mother of his children, Barbara Buhrow of Edgerton.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Marion Koppen of Gastonia, NC; and paternal grandparents, Harry and Florence Buhrow of Edgerton.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at the FULTON CHURCH, 9209 N. Fulton St., Edgerton (Fulton Village). Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life, Edgerton, or HospiceCare Inc., Janesville. The EHLERT FUNERAL HOME of Edgerton is assisting the family.
