Thomas B. Dace, Delavan (1945 - 2009)

Thomas Bernard Dace, 64, of Delavan, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. He was born on July 29, 1945, in Chicago, IL, the son of Clarence and Francis (Taylor) Dace. He was the owner and operator of Dace Refrigeration and Appliances in Delavan from 1976 until 1993, and then went into Real Estate first with Century 21 and then presently with Shorewest Realty. He was a member of the Delavan Elks Club, also a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Tom was also once an Instructor at Gateway Technical College in Elkhorn.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean (Michael) Sprague of Elkhorn; a son, Thomas L. Dace of Delavan; five grandchildren: Kelsey, Christopher, Thomas, Zachary, and Stephanie; one sister, Jackie (Bobby) Goff of Tennessee; his mother, Francis of Tennessee; nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Greg Beles, through the Big Brothers Program. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at MONROE FUNERAL HOME IN DELAVAN. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12 until 3 p.m. at Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan. Memorials may be made to the Delavan Elks Lodge Club, or Agape House of Walworth. MONROE FUNERAL HOME, DELAVAN, is assisting the family.
