Ronald “Trapper” N. Silbaugh, 74, of Janesville, died on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Rockhaven. He was born in Janesville, the youngest of four children, on Nov. 18, 1934, the son of Loren and Helen (Halverson) Silbaugh. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1953, and served in the Army National Guard. Ron had been employed by the Slater Company for 14 years. He was well known as a trapper of fox and mink, an avid Packer fan, and he enjoyed gambling.
He is survived by a brother, Robert Silbaugh; his close friends: Leo “Poncho” Sokolik, Carl Aarstad, and Betty Benewitz; other relatives and friends. Ron as preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Richie; and two siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Bruce Gray officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
