Laura B. Watson, 42, of Janesville, died on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, Madison, following a 15-month battle with breast cancer. She was born in Shawano on Feb. 14, 1967, the daughter of Bernard and Inez (Carter) Muraski. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1985 and UW-Oshkosh in 1989, with a degree in Business Administration. Laura married William Watson in Shawano on Sept. 9, 1989, and had been employed by Parker High School. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church, Religious Education Teacher and Aide, past President of Lincoln PTA, Janesville PTA, and served as an officer of the State PTA. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, and softball coach.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; three children: Karrah, Hillary, and Jeremy, all at home; her parents, Bernard and Inez Muraski of Marion, WI; four siblings: Greg Muraski of Columbus, GA, Brian (Cathy) Muraski of Wisconsin Rapids, Sara (Bill) Ziegelbauer of Janesville, and Jason (Michele) Muraski of Denver, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Fr. John Auby officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum.
