Colton James Meyers, Wild Rose, WI/Janesville  (1992 - 2009)

Our beloved Colton James Meyers, 17, of Wild Rose, WI, died from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009. Colton was born in Janesville, WI, on Feb. 16, 1992, the son of Julie A. Meyers. Colton was a Senior at Wild Rose High School; he would have graduated in the spring of 2010. He was in the process of enlisting in the U.S. Marines in September 2010. Colton also attended school in Stoughton, WI, and Hilbert, WI, before attending Wild Rose. He was fortunate to meet many good friends. He looked forward to spending time with his friends when he visited Stoughton and Hilbert. Colton loved cars, music, sports, his friends and family. Colton had such a kind heart; always room for another friend.
Colton is survived by his mother, Julie Meyers; grandparents, Fred (Micki) Meyers of Fort Atkinson and Colette VanGilder of Stoughton; his uncle, David Meyers of Lake Mills; his aunt, Janelle Buhler and cousin, Jessica Buhler of Edgerton; his "little girls", Chi Chi and Chelsea (Chihuahuas); and a special friend, Sally Henne; as well as a long list of friends and extended family.
Colton was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ward VanGilder; great-grandmother, Marian McCarty; and great-aunt, Karen Hodge.
Colton's family asks that you take a moment and say a prayer for his friend, Jordan, who was injured in the accident.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the EHLERT FUNERAL HOME (U.S. HWY. 51 S.), Edgerton, with the Rev. James Johnson officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
