Paul J. Gysbers, Alamo, TX/Milton  (1922 - 2008)

Paul J. Gysbers, 85, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Comfort House in McAllen, TX. He was born on Nov. 14, 1922, in Waupun, WI, to James and Jesse (Woods) Gysbers in Waupun. He went to school in Waupun and trade school in Fond du Lac, WI. He then went to work at the West Bend Co. in West Bend, WI. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On June 22, 1946, he married Zelpha Smith in Colridle, WA. They moved to Horicon, WI, where he was employed for John Deere for 35 years until he retired on July 31, 1981. He was also the union Rep. for I.A.M. for 10 of those years; after retiring he started to spend the winters in Texas and summers in Milton, WI.
He is survived by his wife, Zelpha; two sons, Arthur (friend, Connie) of Livingston, TX, and Harvey (Sherri) of Fond du Lac, WI; one daughter, Shirley (Dennis) Joccord of Richfield, WI; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at the FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH in Jonesville, WI. SKINNER-SILVA FUNERAL HOME of Pharr, TX, was in charge of arrangements. (956) 787-2244.
