Celina M. Manthey, Janesville  (1911 - 2008)

Celina M. Manthey, 96, died Thursday morning, May 8, 2008, at Cedar Crest Health Center. She was born on July 4, 1911, in Lyndon Station, WI, the daughter of August and Elodia (Bureyn) Schyvinck. Celina married Donald James Manthey in Dubuque, IA, on Oct. 12, 1946; Donald died on April 28, 1980. She had worked for many years at Gilman Manufacturing and Panoramic Corp. Celina was a member of St. William Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Fiore of Beloit and Patricia (Michael) Tracey of Milton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Celina was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Keegan; her son-in-law, Frank Fiore; four brothers: Homer, Albert, John and Edward Schyvinck; and two sisters, Madeline Manthey and Stella Murray.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH in Janesville, with Fr. John Auby presiding. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the CHURCH for one hour prior to the funeral Mass, from 10 until 11 a.m. Memorials to St. William Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
