Thomas Floyd Jackson, Janesville (1916 - 2008)

Thomas Floyd Jackson, 92, a longtime Janesville resident, passed away Monday evening, Aug. 11, 2008, at Our House Memory Care-Pheasant Run, where he has resided the past several months. He was born on Jan. 27, 1916, in Walworth County, WI, son of the late Charles & Nancy (Ingalls) Jackson. Floyd worked at the Pine Grove Restaurant for many years, and then worked on the kitchen staff at the Janesville Country Club until his retirement. Floyd was the first resident of the Garden Court Apartments in downtown Janesville. He loved walking, and was recognized by many people in Janesville on his long walks around town. When his health started to decline, Floyd loved nothing better than riding the Janesville Transit System buses around town.
He is survived by many dear friends, including John and Loretta Krueger, Brenda Fitzmaurice, and Sheryl Hendricks, and the many friends he leaves behind at Garden Court. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Jackson and Elsie Runkle.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH-ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME, JANESVILLE, 15 N. Jackson St., with Rev. David Brynelson, Chaplain for HospiceCare, Inc., officiating. Burial will follow in Cobblestone Cemetery, Walworth, WI. Friends may call on Thursday afternoon from 12 until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials in his name may be made to HospiceCare, Inc., 3001 W. Memorial Dr., Janesville, WI 53548.
