Construction crews will begin expanding Interstate 90/39 between Highway 14 and Hart Road this week, causing nighttime road closures.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, one-lane road closures will be in effect in the construction areas from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.
In mid-March, all Interstate traffic will be shifted to temporary lanes on the southbound side while construction takes place. The County S/Shopiere Road ramp onto the northbound Interstate will be closed for two weeks so crews can complete a temporary loop ramp.
Motorists should follow detour signs during the two-week period.
Once the northbound Interstate expansion is completed, traffic will be shifted to the new northbound road while crews reconstruct and expand the southbound lanes.
The northbound expansion is expected to be completed this year in the spring or summer, while southbound construction is expected to end in the summer of 2019.
The dates are dependent on weather conditions and are subject to change.
