Community Action of Rock & Walworth Counties is offering classes that could lead to employment in the construction industry.

Two meetings are set for this week to explain the Home Builders Institute Pre-Apprenticeship Training:

  • Noon Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Rock County Job Center, 1900 Center Ave., Janesville.
  • 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at Community Action Pathways Center, 20 Eclipse Center, Beloit.

These informational sessions will cover details of the program, provide applications and explain funding.

The eight-week course itself runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays, starting in March.

Those who complete the course will be placed in apprenticeships, jobs or further training, according to a news release.
