The city of Janesville’s snow emergency starts at 5 a.m. Friday.

Vehicles must be removed from city streets and public parking lots until plowing is complete. Violators risk a $50 ticket.

The city of Beloit's snow emergency will be in effect from 8 p.m. Thursday to 8 p.m. Saturday. Vehicle parking or standing on Beloit streets is prohibited. Violators risk a ticket and/or tow-away at the owner's expense.

The town of Beloit's snow emergency runs from 3 p.m. Thursday through 8 a.m. Saturday.

The village of Clinton declared its snow emergency from 8 p.m. Thursday until 8 p.m. Friday. Parking is available at the municipal parking lot in the 200 block of Mill Street. Vehicles can park there for 24 hours. 

Elkhorn's snow parking restrictions will be enforced from 9 p.m. Thursday up to 12 hours after the National Weather Service's storm warning expires.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning that starts at 6 p.m. Thursday in Rock County but 9 p.m. in Walworth County.

Snow is forecast to continue until 6 p.m. Friday in both counties, with snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches.

Heaviest accumulations are expected between midnight and 6 a.m. Friday. Deepest snows are expected close to the Illinois border.

The city of Janesville plans to maintain main and arterial streets throughout the snowfall. The city will begin its full plow after snow tapers off Friday morning. The full plow will not be completed until Friday night, “although every effort will be made to complete residential streets as soon as possible,” according to a city news release.
