Traffic backed up on northbound Interstate 90/39 in Rock County after several vehicles were involved in accidents that started shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The crashes occurred near the state truck-weighing station between Janesville and Beloit, according to the county 911 dispatch center.

The state Department of Transportation tweeted at 11:24 a.m. that the accident scene was cleared, but traffic was seen moving slowly more than an hour after that.

The State Patrol, which handled the accident, at one point had 10 officers on scene, a spokeswoman said.

Injuries appeared to be minor, the spokeswoman said.

The State Patrol did not respond to a Gazette request for more information.
