Arrests

GARRETT C. JACOBSEN, 37, of 816 W. Van Buren St., Janesville, at 12:28 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of North Pontiac Drive, Janesville, on charges of driving a car without owner consent and retail theft. He is accused of taking a car from the driveway of the owner in the 1200 block of North Pontiac Drive and crashing it into a stoplight at Pontiac Drive and Pontiac Place, and of possessing six packages of steaks from Woodman’s Food Market.

Reported

FRAUD reported at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday by a town of Plymouth resident who received a notice from Speedy Cash saying he was overdue for a payment on a loan. The man contacted the company and found out that someone had used his identity in an online application to receive a $500 loan.

SEXUAL ABUSE OF A CHILD reported at 11:14 p.m. Monday at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where a Janesville woman brought her small child and said she suspected her boyfriend had been abusing the child. An investigation is continuing.

CAR THEFT reported at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of South Oakhill Avenue, Janesville. Taken was a blue 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage.

Accidents

CRAIG HIGH SCHOOL PARKING LOT, JANESVILLE, at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, when cars driven by Rachel C. Vogt, 16, of 3524 Hemmingway Drive, Janesville, and Kaley Jo White, 16, of 2726 Autumn Lane, Janesville, collided as both were trying to leave the lot near Randall Avenue. White was transported to Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, for a possible injury.

Charged

DAMIEN R. WOLF, 17, of 305 Gifford St., Orfordville, with burglary, theft and driving vehicle without owner consent. He is accused of taking the car’s battery and keys from an office in Orfordville and driving Jan. 1. The car went off the road on South Holden Road.
