THEFT at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Frontier Road, Janesville. A resident reported the family’s inflatable Christmas decorations were stolen from the yard. The items were valued at about $350.
VANDALISM at 5:02 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Alpine Drive, Janesville. A resident reported someone cut the electrical wires used to light two statues in a holiday Nativity scene in the yard. It’s the second year straight someone has vandalized the same Nativity scene. Police suspect the vandalism could be an “anti-Christian” statement.
HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE ABUSE reported at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Rock County Job Center, 1900 Center Ave., Janesville. A man was booked at the Rock County Jail and released with a notice to appear in court after a sheriff’s deputy arrested him on suspicion of abuse of hazardous substances. Someone witnessed the man “huffing” chemicals from an aerosol can while he was inside the job center.
ELECTRICAL FIRE reported at 11:06 a.m. Wednesday at Impact Confections, 4017 Whitney Street, Janesville. Workers reported a small fire in an exterior electrical room. Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly, and the building had minimal damage. The plant’s operations were suspended while utility crews had shut off power to the building. Authorities were investigating the fire’s cause.
BRUSH FIRE reported at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday at 530 E. Russel Road, Janesville. Fire crews responded to what was reported as a brush fire or a wood pile fire near a building. After crews extinguished the fire, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and a Janesville fire marshal were called in to determine the cause of the fire.
JACOB A. LUEK, 35, of 214 Burbank Ave., Janesville, with possession of narcotics. He is accused of possessing fentanyl after a traffic stop on South Riverside Drive in the town of Beloit.
KIMBERLY L. GARZA, 36, of 2309 Harvard Drive, No. 10, Janesville, with theft by acquisition of a financial card and five counts of identity theft for financial gain. She is accused of taking and repeatedly using a debit card belonging to a woman she knows and taking out a $500 loan on the woman’s car last month.
THOR A. RIORDON, 43, of 628 Patricia St., No. 203, Elkhorn, with four counts of manufacture/delivery of marijuana and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Walworth County sheriff’s deputies say in September and October they conducted controlled buys of marijuana from Riordon before they found him on Nov. 21 with 16.98 grams of marijuana and a digital scale, sandwich bags and smoking pipe.
DOMINGO J. RODRIGUEZ, 17, of 412 E. Washington St., Delavan, with party to theft of moveable property, misdemeanor theft and four counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. Town of Linn police say on Dec. 1, Rodriguez stole a handgun, magazine and seven rounds of ammunition from someone he knows.
NICHOLAS M. TRZEBNY, 16, of N1303 Salt Box Road, Sharon, with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child younger than 12. Walworth County sheriff’s deputies say on Jan. 2, they became aware of a young child who said Trzebny had on multiple occasions convinced her to engage in sex acts with him in exchange for beads.
BARBARA J. WINDEN, 29, of 1012 E. Wisconsin St., Delavan, with reckless driving causing great bodily harm and knowingly operate a motor vehicle while suspended and causing great bodily harm. Walworth County sheriff’s deputies say on Oct. 30, Winden tried to pass a car on Highway P south of Highway 12 in the town of Whitewater when she lost control and struck another car. The driver of the other car was treated at Lakeland Medical Center for a broken sternum, collarbone and knee. Winden, who was supposed to have an ignition interlock device installed on her car and did not, was treated for spinal fractures and a broken collarbone.
