Residents James Foss and Jason Davis have taken out nomination papers to run for Janesville City Council, bringing the number of candidates to seven.
The seats of council Vice President Rich Gruber and members Paul Williams and Jens Jorgensen are up for grabs in April. All three incumbents are seeking re-election.
Two Monterey Dam Association members, Jeffrey Navarro and Harry Paulsen, also are running for election. The association opposes the city council’s March decision to remove the Monterey Dam and has expressed distrust of city officials.
Papers are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2. The election is April 3.
