Donna Duerst, Rock County 4-H youth development educator, retired in August after 27 years with UW Extension.

Duerst began her career with UW Extension in 1989 as the Crawford County 4-H youth development agent.

She transferred to UW Extension-Rock County in 1990 and has served as youth development educator since then.

She has been responsible for developing new and ongoing 4-H youth programming, 4-H club programs and youth/adult volunteers. Duerst also was co-department head for the Rock County Extension Office for the past three years.

Duerst has spent much of her time managing and enhancing the largest 4-H club program in Wisconsin. She also has worked on new programs, such as the Rock County 4-H Ambassadors, the 4-H club at the Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Beloit Public Library drop-in program and several after-school 4-H clubs. does not condone or review every comment.
