Realtor Sal Dimiceli Sr. of Lake Geneva Area Realty was one of five winners chosen by the National Association of Realtors for REALTOR Magazine’s Good Neighbor Award.

Dimiceli was selected for founding the nonprofit The Time is Now to Help, which provides emergency aid to people in crisis.

Through The Time is Now to Help, founded in 1989, Dimiceli has provided motel rooms for the homeless, paid overdue utility bills for people who can’t afford heat or electricity, bought and repaired cars to help people get to work, and bought wheelchairs for those with mobility issues.

He often pays back rent to prevent evictions and then provides financial counseling to help people establish sustainable budgets. Dimiceli helps about 500 people every year.

Dimiceli and the other four Good Neighbor Award winners will receive $10,000 grants for their charities and are featured in the November/December issue of REALTOR Magazine. does not condone or review every comment. Read more in our Commenter Policy Agreement
