The city of Whitewater recently hired three new directors in the finance, community development, and parks and recreation departments.

Steve Hatton was hired as Whitewater’s finance and administrative services director April 24. He has an MBA in finance from UW-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Science in construction management from UW-Madison. Before joining the city staff, Hatton worked in the private sector, including at CNHI Capital.

Dave Carlson was hired as the director of the community development authority May 15. A lifelong Wisconsinite, Carlson graduated from UW-Whitewater with a bachelor’s degree in communication and political science. He has nearly 25 years of experience in state and local government. Carlson recently worked for the city of Columbus as economic development director.

Eric Boettcher was hired as the parks and recreation director June 5. Originally from the Green Bay area, Boettcher earned his bachelor’s degree in parks, recreation and leisure studies from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
