The YMCA of Northern Rock County has received a $3,500 donation for preschool scholarships.

The money will provide scholarships and financial aid for parents who need help sending their children to the YMCA preschool program. Du Wayne and Nancy Nelson, who own Nelson’s HomeTowne Recreation in Janesville, made the donation, according to a news release.

“The YMCA serves a valuable purpose in our communities,” the Nelsons say in the release. “We are proud to partner with the YMCA for better communities and better health for everyone.”

The YMCA’s scholarship campaign helps fund programs such as youth sports and day camps, according to the release.
