MILTON

The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department on Tuesday identified Julie L. Dregne, 47, as the Milton woman who died in a single-vehicle car accident Sunday night.

Dregne died at the scene of the crash on Highway 26 at Highway 59, according to a news release from the medical examiner’s department.

The Gazette previously reported a 1999 Chevy Tahoe was traveling north on Highway 26 when the driver hit a concrete barrier, swerved across the median and rolled over in the southbound lanes.

An autopsy confirmed Dregne’s death was the result of injuries sustained in the crash, according to the release.

Dregne was the passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband, John Dregne, 48, of 803 Rogers St., No. 1, Milton. He was taken to Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center, where he was in good condition Tuesday afternoon, a spokesperson for Mercyhealth told The Gazette.

No arrests have been made and no citations issued, Milton Police Chief Scott Marquardt said.

The death remains under investigation by Milton police and the medical examiner’s department.
