The House of Mercy Homeless Center has planned a fundraiser and a monthly volunteer open house for next week.

The fundraiser, hosted by HuHot Mongolian Grill, 2431 Milton Ave., Janesville, runs from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday according to a Mercyhealth news release. During that time, 10 percent of all food sales will benefit the House of Mercy.

The House of Mercy will hold its monthly volunteer open house at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday according to another news release. Open houses occur on the third Tuesday of every month.

“Since opening in 1996, the center has provided shelter and support to over 6,000 individuals, half of whom were children,” a release states. “Almost every day, the center’s 25-bed capacity is filled—but with the generous support of our community, the doors to the House of Mercy will continue to remain open, helping those in need.”

The open house will feature a facility tour and orientation. Volunteers younger than 18 must be accompanied by adults.
