Rock County sheriff candidate Gary Groelle announced the following endorsements:

  • The American Federation of Federal, State, County and Municipal Employees, or AFSCME, which endorsed him in 2014 and represents sheriff’s office support staff, Rock County 911 dispatchers and workers at the Rock County Courthouse, Rock Haven Nursing Home, county public works department, health care center, economic support, job center and health department.

AFSCME also represents workers with the Janesville Department of Public Works; Janesville School District instructional aides, custodians, maintenance and food workers; Beloit City Hall, public library and transit system; Beloit Eclipse Center; and the Orfordville Parkview School District support staff.

  • Police chiefs Tom Klubertanz of Edgerton and David Hooker of Clinton.

“In today’s changing world we will need a strong leader to move law enforcement forward in Rock County. We need a person of good moral character and with strong leadership qualities. I believe Gary is the right man for that job,” Hooker wrote in his endorsement.

  • Rock County Board members Brian Knudson, Danette Rynes and Jeremy Zajac.
