Blackhawk Technical College will announce a partnership Wednesday with UW-Whitewater’s College of Business and Economics.

The partnership between the schools’ business programs will help Blackhawk Tech business students transfer more easily to UW-Whitewater, according to a news release from the technical college.

A signing ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Blackhawk Tech, 6004 S. County G, Janesville. Tracy Pierner, president of Blackhawk Tech, and John Chenoweth, dean of the UW-W College of Business and Economics, will speak.

The partnership has been in the works for several years, according to the release, and has prompted the technical college to enhance its courses and textbooks so they match the university’s.

Business programs at Blackhawk Tech include business management, human resources, supply chain management and accounting, according to the release.

Both institutions also offer online courses so students can complete their business degrees online.
