An employee at a town of Sugar Creek assisted living facility pleaded not guilty to charges she delivered marijuana to a tenant who said it helped him with his multiple sclerosis.

Ann M. Schackmuth, 48, of Twin Lakes, on Jan. 8 pleaded not guilty to delivering marijuana and possessing an illegally obtained prescription, court records show.

The owner and a staff member of the facility, Just Like Home, W5140 County A, told police Schackmuth had been in a room that later smelled like smoked marijuana, according to the criminal complaint. The tenant told police Schackmuth did not ask him for money, but he still gave her “like $2 or $3” for marijuana.

Police later searched Schackmuth’s car and found 15 Vicodin pills, the complaint states.

Schackmuth is next due in court for a status conference at 1:15 p.m. March 9.
