The Janesville Police Department and a police dog helped capture a man suspected of dealing drugs.

Sheadrick A. Williams, 27, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.

The charges are related to an incident that took place at 4 p.m. Tuesday when Janesville police discovered evidence of drug use during a traffic stop, the news release said.

The police dog was called in to assist. Williams, who was in the front passenger seat, fled on foot, and the dog helped officers catch Williams, the news release said.

Williams is in custody at the Rock County Jail awaiting his court appearance, the news release said.
