A man is charged with sexually assaulting a young girl he knows and filming her during a different sex act, according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday in Walworth County Court.

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Adam M. Luerssen, 35, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, after a teenage girl in May spoke with a forensic interviewer at the Walworth County Child Advocacy Center. The girl said Luerssen had sexually assaulted her multiple times when she was younger, including two incidents of forced sexual intercourse, according to the complaint.

Luerssen is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 12, one count each of sexual assault by contact with a child under age 13 and sexual exploitation of a child, as well as two related charges.

The exact timing of the alleged incidents is unclear, but the complaint states the crimes took place between September 2010 and August 2012 as well as one assault between September 2012 and August 2013.

The girl told the interviewer that one night in a Sugar Creek home she was sleeping when Luerssen came in and sexually assaulted her, according to the complaint. The girl said she panicked and was unable to move.

After, the girl said Luerssen acted like nothing had happened, the complaint states.

In another incident, the girl said Luerssen told her to go into a room and perform a sex act by herself, according to the complaint. It turns out, Luerssen had videotaped the girl without her knowledge, according to the complaint.

Luerssen showed the girl the video and insulted her, according to the complaint.

A woman police interviewed said she became aware of the video about four or five years ago, the complaint states.

The last incident prosecutors listed in the complaint happened at a beach near a Sugar Creek home. Luerssen pushed the girl against a metal pole and put his arm on her neck before sexually assaulting her, according to the complaint. After, Luerssen pushed the girl’s head under the water.
