Dane County deputies found an Edgerton man asleep at the wheel of a vehicle at a town of Pleasant Springs gas station Saturday afternoon.
Luke Zeimet, 28, was arrested on charges of fourth-offense operating while intoxicated and was cited for driving the wrong way onto a divided highway, according to a news release from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were alerted at 4:25 p.m. Saturday of a reckless vehicle swerving between lanes in the town of Pleasant Springs, according to the release.
The vehicle was located at the Road Ranger gas station on County N, where deputies found Zeimet parked at a gas pump and asleep at the wheel, according to the release.
After deputies woke him up, Zeimet said he was leaving and drove away, according to the release.
He then entered the wrong way through a traffic circle and refused to stop for deputies.
The vehicle was stopped down the road, according to the release.
Zeimet is being held in the Dane County Jail on a felony OWI charge, according to the release.
