JANESVILLE

Rock County prosecutors say a Beloit man charged with fifth-offense intoxicated driving gave police a Walmart card when asked for his driver’s license.

Jamie L. Thomas, 45, of 1116 Harrison Ave. is charged with driving while intoxicated in the early morning hours of Feb. 11 in the village of Clinton, according to a criminal complaint.

Clinton police say at about 1:09 a.m. they saw Thomas driving 38 mph in a 30-mph zone on Milwaukee Street, drifting into different lanes after leaving a tavern, the complaint states. The road was covered with about 2 inches of snow at the time.

Thomas' blood-alcohol concentration tested at 0.209, the complaint states. He has OWI convictions from 1998, 2007 twice and 2008.
