— Four candidates—Ronald Torkilson, Dina Knibbs, Victoria Baker and Mary A. Jensen—are seeking three seats on the Clinton Village Board.

Only Torkilson responded to a Gazette request for information:

Ronald Torkilson (I)

Age: 62

Address: 608 Milwaukee St., Clinton.

Job: Retired. Also has been the organist for Jefferson Prairie Church for more than 40 years.

Education: Graduated from Clinton High School in 1969 and received an agriculture degree from Blackhawk Technical College in 1971.

Community service: Volunteers as a driver for Clinton EMS and a driver for the Clinton Senior Center.

Elected posts: Clinton Village Board member since 2005.

Major campaign issues: “I feel a large issue is going to be for the (village) board to work with the library board to come up with a plan for the space needs. The Clinton Library is a very important part of the village. Also, keeping the downtown area alive with full spaces and needs for the community is important.”
