Two seek No. 2 supervisor seat in town of Beloit

— Voters will decide next week between two men seeking to be town supervisor No. 2.

Incumbent Dick LaMonte is seeking re-election, and he is being challenged by David Russell, 828 Udell Drive, Beloit.

Only LaMonte returned a biographical questionnaire to The Gazette.

Dick LaMonte (I)

Age: 70

Address: 3035 S. Petunia Lane, Beloit.

Job: Retired.

Education: Graduate of Brookfield High School. Two-year business degree from Milwaukee Institute of Technology.

Elected posts: Beloit Town Board from 1997 to 2004 and 2008 to 2013.

Major campaign issue: “My biggest wish is for more taxpayer attendance at meetings to help let us know what they want. Keep taxes in line without loss of services, more growth and development in the community and farmland preservation.”
