Clinton's Risseeuw among Rock honorees

Cody Risseeuw put the ball in the basket for Clinton High School.

Risseeuw, a senior, finished his high school boys basketball career scoring more than 1,500 points to set a school record. Risseeuw averaged a conference-leading 20.2 points a game to close out his senior season.

Risseeuw and senior teammate Jalen McMartin earned first-team Rock Valley South all-conference honors along with senior Evan Metzger of Turner, senior Carter Hehr of Walworth Big Foot and senior Jameson Lavery of Orfordville Parkview.

Metzger averaged 12.2 points to finish second in scoring, while Lavery averaged 12.0 per game. Hehr scored 11.2 a game to lead Big Foot.

Clinton won the Rock Valley South championship with a 12-4 record. Beloit Turner finished second at 8-8 and Big Foot was third at 7-9.

Meanwhile, East Troy seniors Nate Dodge and Brett Prahl were named co-players of the year and first-team all-conference in the Rock Valley North. Prahl led the North with a 19.7 scoring average and Dodge averaged 19.5 points en route to leading the state-qualifying Trojans to undefeated (16-0) conference season.

Senior Cory Frank, a first-team selection from McFarland, was third in league scoring with 16.9 points a game and led the North in rebounds with an 11.5 average. Alex Prahl, Brett's twin brother, was a first-team selection, who averaged 11.5 points. McFarland senior Brandon Doll had a 13-point average to round out the first team.
