Janesville Craig Spotlighters complete season with second
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa The Janesville Craig High School Spotlighters placed second in their final show-choir competition of the season Saturday.
The winner of the Mo Show at Cedar Rapids Washington High School was Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s Happiness Inc.
The Spotlighters band won the award for best band, the fourth time it did so in this year’s six competitions.
The Spotlighters also won the High Energy Award.
“This was one of the hardest working groups we have ever had. They did everything we asked and more,” said Spotlighters Director Bob Schrank. “It was a great year.”
The Spotlighters’ final performance of the year will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in the auditorium at Craig, 401 S. Randall St., Janesville. The Craig Jazz Ensemble will also perform as well as the soloists who competed in the solo competitions this year.
Tuesday’s event will include a special senior recognition and the awarding of the Spotlighter Carbon Arc award to the most outstanding Spotlighter senior(s).
