— Three men attempting to remove an ice shanty from Lake Koshkonong were stranded Tuesday in an eight-wheel drive amphibious vehicle between ice and open water and had to be rescued by local emergency crews.

According to a Rock County Sheriff's Office news release, emergency workers from the sheriff's office and Edgerton and Milton fire departments responded at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday to the lake, at Dallman's Landing in Milton Township, after learning the men were stranded.

Members of the sheriff's office recreational safety team and Milton Fire Department used an airboat to rescue the men and take them back to Dallman's Landing.

No medical treatment was needed. The men, whose names and addresses were not made available, reported no injuries after being stranded for about two hours, according to the release.

The amphibious machine was left on the lake due to weather concerns. The recreational safety team planned to retrieve it Wednesday morning.
