Milton edges past Parker
JANESVILLE Free-throw shooting woes tripped up Parker High in a 65-62 loss to visiting Milton in boys nonconference basketball Tuesday night.
The Vikings missed 17 of 37 free throws in the loss. The Red Hawks went 16 of 22 from the line.
Parker is 2-15 overall and Milton is 7-9.
Milton took a 15-7 first-quarter lead, but Parker roared back to pound Milton 21-12 in the second quarter for a 28-27 halftime lead. The Vikings failed to duplicate the second-quarter scoring assault as Milton took an 18-7 third-quarter advantage for a 45-34 lead into the fourth quarter.
Tanner Smith scored 18 points and J.J. Scott added 14 points for Parker. Tyler Westrick scored 17 points to lead Milton.
