Rally keeps Warhawk women on top

— UW-Whitewater's women's basketball team remained in a first-place tie in the WIAC by rallying for a win Wednesday night.

Trailing by eight at halftime, the Warhawks erupted for 45 second-half points en route to a 65-59 win over UW-Stevens Point.

Whitewater improved to 14-5 overall and to 8-2 in the WIAC—tied with UW-Superior.

Kaitlyn Thill had 14 points to lead Whitewater, while Mary Merg added 11.

The Warhawks forced 22 turnovers and scored 29 points off the turnovers.

Whitewater plays at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday.
