Spry sparks Milton boys
James Spry was the hero Tuesday night for Milton High's boys basketball team.
With the game tied at 50-50 with 1.7 seconds left, Spry made a free throw to give the Red Hawks a 51-50 nonconference win over Edgerton. The Crimson Tide did not get a shot off at the end.
Milton (4-6 overall) trailed by seven at half, but outscored Edgerton 32-24 in the second half.
Luke Ganz and Noah Johnson scored 11 points each to lead Milton.
Edgerton's Adam Converse led all scorers with 15 points.

-- Monticello 40, Brodhead 39—Lucas Marty hit a three-pointer with 1:02 left in the game, and Monticello went on to defeat visiting Brodhead.
Marty's shot broke a 37-all tie. Brodhead had tied the game on three-point goals by Danny Lewis and Ned Slocum. Slocum then hit a two-point basket with nine seconds to go, and the Ponies were able to run out the clock.
Lewis had 15 points and Slocum finished with 10 for the Cardinals.
Marty had 14 points, while Aaron Hefty and Jesse Hefty each had 11 for the 11-1 Ponies, who were without leading scorer Brace Klitzke, who is injured.
