East Troy man charged with possessing child porn
ELKHORN — An East Troy man was charged Thursday with two felony counts related to child pornography authorities said they found on his laptop.
The Walworth County District Attorney's office charged Daniel Taubert, 1839 Division Street in East Troy, with possession of child pornography and sexual exploitation of a child.
According to a news release, agents from the state Department of Justice and Walworth County sheriff's deputies searched Taubert's home on Feb. 1, 2012. Their investigation found 18 images of child pornography on Taubert's laptop, authorities said.
In an interview with a sheriff's detective Taubert admitted to downloading and exchanging child pornography during online chat sessions, according to the release.
Taubert is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Walworth County Circuit Court March 6.
