Not guilty pleas in home invasion
JANESVILLE Rock County Court officials have entered not guilty pleas for the four people accused of assaulting a town of Fulton couple in January and taking weapons, cash and a truck from the couple's home.
Jesse D. Adams, 22, Beloit; Kayla Pearson, 21, Janesville; Christopher Kimps, 24, Whitewater, and Sarah Buckingham, 20, Monroe, are charged with a number of felonies including armed robbery, burglary, battery, fleeing and operating a vehicle without owner consent.
On Jan. 11, the men entered a home on West Miles Road in the town of Fulton, bound the residents with duct tape and beat the male resident. They demanded access to a safe containing guns, according to court documents.
They fled to Janesville in the couple's truck, loaded the guns into their car and drove to the Wisconsin Dells area. Police arrested them Jan. 14 after a foot chase near the Dells.
Pearson had dated a relative of the homeowners and had lived in the home on West Miles Road, according to court documents.
