Burlington rallies past Elkhorn

BURLINGTON — The Burlington boys basketball team trailed by two points with fewer than three minutes remaining on Tuesday night but rallied to top Elkhorn 49-44 in Southern Lakes play.

Demons senior guard Carson Biedryzcki went 12 of 25 from the field and a perfect 7 of 7 from the free-throw stripe, paving the way with 31 points. Burlington sunk 11 of 13 free-throw attempts as a team to preserve its tie atop the conference standings.

Arik Anderson led Elkhorn with 13 points, while Brad Killen added nine.

The Demons improved to 10-1 in the Southern Lakes and 14-4 overall. The Elks fell to 5-6 and 9-10.
