Parker boys can't keep up
SUN PRAIRIE Parker High gave Sun Prairie all it could handle early, but the Cardinals prevailed, 78-51, Monday in Big Eight Conference boys basketball.
The Vikings are 3-15 overall and 1-12 in the Big Eight Conference. Sun Prairie is 15-3 overall and 12-2.
Parker trailed 20-16 after the first quarter, but the Cardinals pounded the Vikings 25-8 in the second quarter to hold a 45-24 lead at halftime.
"I thought our kids didn't back down," coach Ryan Masterson said. "For a large stretch we went toe-to-toe with them.''
Parker gained a 19-16 advantage in the third quarter, but the Cards finished off the game topping Parker 17-8 in the fourth quarter.
Tanner Smith scored 13 points for Parker. Nick Noskowiak scored 20 points and Nebraska recruit Nick Fuller added 19 for Sun Prairie.
Parker plays at Verona at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
