Milton soccer earns victory over Craig
Milton High School's boys soccer team held on for a 2-1 victory over visiting Janesville Craig Thursday in nonconference action.
Nady Banker scored in the first half for the Red Hawks, and Max Licary scored in the 65th minute of the second half to put Milton ahead, 2-0.
Craig's Troy Lipker scored at the 79th minute for his first goal.
"It was very evenly matched," said Craig coach Charlie Friedrich. "Milton's a quick team, very fast. That second (Milton) goal hurt."
Craig goaltender Keegan Leckey had 10 saves, while Milton's Zach Hallet stopped seven shots.
The Cougars (5-13-1) host Big Foot/Williams Bay at 11 a.m. Saturday.
