Edgewood beats Milton with late TD

Madison Edgewood High completed a 19-yard touchdown pass with 20 seconds remaining to stun visiting Milton, 33-30, Friday in Badger South football.

The Red Hawks fall to 0-3 in the league and 1-4 overall.

Milton scored all its points in the first half on Josh Kummer’s 36-yard TD run, Mike Guenther’s 30-yard field goal, Devon Hartman’s 16-yard TD pass from Evan Phillips, a 10-yard TD pass to Riley Clark from Phillips and a Kummer 2-yard run for a 30-20 lead. Edgewood cut the deficit to 30-26 on a 43-yard TD pass in the third quarter.

Kummer gained 186 yards on 30 carries to lead all rushers.

Alan Anderson gained 121 yards on 12 carries and scored twice for the Crusaders.
