Craig swimmers win second Big Eight meet
Janesville Craig won seven of the 11 events to earn a 95-75 victory over visiting Madison La Follette in Big Eight Conference girls swimming Friday night.
Craig improved to 2-3 in the Big Eight.
“It was a great team effort again,” Cougars coach Brian Kitzman said. “It was nice to get our second win in a row.”
Craig won both the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay. Alexis Roach and Cady Gansen each won two individual events and were members of both winning relays along with Emma Schmaling and Maggie Gorman.
Craig’s Sierra Rhodes won the 50 freestyle.
Craig competes today at the Fort Atkinson Invitational.

West downs Parker
n West 131, Parker 38—Janesville Parker’s Leslie Jones earned a first- and second-place finish, but that was about the only highlight for the Vikings in a Big Eight meet at West on Friday.
Jones, a senior, won the 500 freestyle in 5:51.48, and was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.72.
“Leslie did an amazing job in her 500 freestyle,” said Parker coach Becky Wilson. “It was a new PR for her.”
Parker junior Hailey Leisten earned a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle (26.49) and a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle (58.79).
“We went up against a strong team tonight, but the girls did great,” Wilson said.
