Craig volleyball sweeps host Spartans; Parker swept

JANESVILLE — Craig High rolled to a 3-0 victory Thursday over host Madison Memorial in Big Eight Conference volleyball.

The Cougars defeated the Spartans, 25-18, 25-16, 25-15. Craig is 4-2 in the Big Eight and 21-6 overall.

"We played well right from the get-go," Cougars' coach Blake Budrow said. "Aly Raymond did a nice job of hitting."

Raymond had 10 kills, Katie Villa had 41 assists and Kristi Crandall had nine digs.

Craig plays Thursday at Parker.

defeat Thursday to visiting Verona in Big Eight Conference volleyball.

The Vikings lost, 25-13, 25-10, 25-18, 25-11. Parker is 3-3 in the Big Eight.

"We just did not play well against them," Parker coach Dave Lehmann said. "It happens. Sometimes a good team makes you look not so good."

Ashley Hartwig posted 20 kills and Claire Fox had 19 assists for Parker.

Parker travels to Sun Prairie for a 6:30 p.m. match Monday.
