Parker, Craig volleyball collect league victories
JANESVILLE Janesville Parker's girls volleyball team won its second straight match of the week Thursday to move above .500 in the Big Eight Conference.
Parker, behind Ashley Hartwig and Ally Gorman, swept Madison East, 3-0. The Vikings won by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-23.
In improving to 3-2 in the Big Eight, the Vikings dominated the Purgolders.
"We played very well overall," Parker coach Dave Lehmann said. "Ashley had a big night hitting, while Ally led us in serves and digs."
Hartwig finished with 19 kills. Gorman had three service aces and a match-high 14 digs.
Parker plays at the Delavan-Darien Invitational on Saturday.

The Cougars are 3-2 in the Big Eight and 14-5 overall.
Katie Villa had a good overall game with four aces, three kills, 37 assists and 2 digs.
"Villa had a good game, and Regan Sitorius (17 kills) hit the ball really well," said Craig coach Blake Budrow.
"Meghan Hulen and (Kristi) Crandall did a good job on the defensive side of the ball."
Craig competes in the Edgerton Invitational on Saturday.
