Parker volleyball all even in conference; Craig shutout

JANESVILLE — Parker High climbed back to .500 in Big Eight Conference volleyball Tuesday with a 3-1 victory over Beloit Memorial.

The Vikings took the first three games, 25-12, 25-8, 25-15 before Beloit took the final game, 25-20. Parker is 2-2 in the Big Eight.

"It was only the second match the whole year we had everybody healthy," Parker coach Dave Lehmann said. "The kids played well.''

Ashley Hartwig had 19 kills and Claire Fox had 17 assists for the Vikings. Ally Gorman and Kyslee Greve posted 10 and nine digs, respectively.

"Ally Gorman and Kyslee Greve kept the ball in play and Ashley Hartwig had a ton, but we spread the scoring around, which is a good sign.''

Parker hosts Madison East at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Craig falls at Sun Prairie

Craig High (2-2, 13-5) suffered a 3-0 loss at Sun Prairie.

Craig lost, 25-13, 25-15, 25-11.

"It was a little disappointing," Craig coach Blake Budrow said of the loss. "We played well last weekend and we came out flat, and you can't do that against a good team like Sun Prairie."

Craig plays at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Beloit.
